DECIEM the Turmoil Continues …

Hello everyone,

As you know Deciem is a brand that I have followed passionately from the very beginning. It was a roller coaster ride and so exciting to see what would happen next.

Unfortunately that roller coaster ride has taken a huge nosedive and a turn for the worse (personally speaking) . There are whispers everywhere of Brandon verbally insulting staff and calling them names (allegedly).

You can read my previous post here: Deciem

Then Nicola Kilner/Reddinton JOINT CEO got fired for what seems to be very little. Questioning Brandon’s behavior when he went off the rails somewhat on Instagram, making big decisions on his own without consulting anyone else in the company. Not really how a company works or how to run it. Is that not what people do when you are not being yourself, question you? (for your own sake)

Somewhere after Estee Lauder bought into the company it would seem Brandon has taken issue with having to answer for any of his actions and I still feel it is like a major tantrum and chucking his toys out of the pram. Unfortunately it seems he has hurt a lot of people. People who sang his praise’s and supported him 100% are now leaving his side because he seems to be treating them appallingly.

Victoria Health whom I love is the latest to leave Brandon’s ship. Gill sang about Brandon and his products from the hill tops, she was passionate about it all and we all loved it. We loved the wait-lists and everything about the 2 companies, they went hand in hand really.

Then when the weekly round up emails stopped I really sensed something was wrong and the wind was taken out of Gill’s sails and I mean badly taken out. So much so she stopped those emails.

Today Victoria Health have released this statement:

VH Update – DECIEM

I apologise in advance for sending this email to our entire database, but several thousand of you are on wait lists for products from NIOD, The Ordinary and some of the other DECIEM brands, which is incredibly stressful for each of us as these wait lists go back several months.

I do not wish to extrapolate any further than to say that we will no longer be stocking any of the DECIEM products. If you are on a wait list then we will cancel your order with immediate effect, but please rest assured that we have not debited any monies from your account, which is in line with company policy of only debiting your account once the product has been processed and sent. We will sell through the products that are currently in stock.

At this point I will just say that I am so very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

My heartfelt thanks to those of you who have supported us and been on this journey for three years.

I would also like to thank some very special people around me who gave their all, not least the VH team.

With love

Gill Sinclair
Victoria Health

Now I know for sure that separation did not come easily for Gill, sometimes you can just really sense things aren’t right. I have to wonder who will be next to fall…

Something is fundamentally wrong within Deciem and I only hope someone stops it before it gets destroyed by ego and foolish actions. Who is left to help run an empire?
No man is an island in my book and neither is Brandon!

Just wonder who is going to be next?

Bye for now .. shock & Aw no!

Deciem The Brand That Grew Too Fast!

Hello fellow beauties,

I am sure like me a lot of you have been watching the brand Deciem and its founder Brandon Truaxe start to unravel at the seams. It has been a roller coaster ride from the start with lots of heart stopping thrills and turns.

I have used the brand since it first started 4 years ago and then starting off it had a real cult following. Its buyers were very loyal to the brand and the products. Something I too enjoyed immensely, it was fresh, new, exciting and the products were really good.

From there on the company grew like wildfire, Victoria Health was one of the first to stock this brand and the many products born from the Deciem umbrella – Niod, The Ordinary, Stemm, Hyalmide, Fountain the list goes on ..

Massive wait lists ensued as they moved premises about 3 times as they expanded so rapidly they found it impossible to keep up with demand. Then came the investment with Estee Lauder, a well timed investment that would allow Deciem to build the factories they needed to allow them to mass produce and keep up with supply. They started opening their own shops and moving into America a dream Brandon had always wanted.

But now with such rapid expansion and I mean incredibly rapid success brings its own headaches. Planning ahead, more new launches the company didn’t stop to catch its own breath and they had and still have a wildly galloping horse on their hands! Staff training was something Lauder would help them with immensely I think.

When you create a brand and make it as complicated as Niod it takes time for people to understand them. So when they opened their shops it was dam near impossible to teach their staff straight away. So in a way the knowledge came back and somewhat bit them on the ass.

Might have been ok if they had stopped there and fixed things, put back new launches, got the right training in to staff and waited till they were in their new factory. But no .. someone was on a quest to dominate the US and leaving in their wake a trail of errors that would in my opinion weaken any company.

On they went .. when I say ‘they’ I will say Brandon, Nicola was a joint CEO but the mastermind behind the social media and most of the expansion seemed to be Brandon’s workings, it would seem something he has done a bit too well, while Nicola took to sales, Qvc all over the world, other shopping channels opening shops. Nicola was the beautiful face of the brand, she did her job with passion and love, she loved every single minute, you never saw her not smiling or unwilling to have time for customers, guiding them when needed. I know this because I saw it often in my small Beauty Group on facebook.

Now there are some bad reviews about working for the company and that Brandon personally insulted and abused some of his staff, I can believe this as the pressure on him must have been immense, so much pressure .. stress and pressure can do strange things to people and to peoples heads!

Brandon has done some strange things on Instagram like running his company publicly, making executive decisions with no consultation from his joint CEO or Lauder. So while Brandon’s head is trailing ahead it is leaving behind a weak infrastructure and so many unfixed errors that could implode like a house of cards and it seems a lot of that is happening right now.

Sadly Brandon has fired Nicola, leaving her heartbroken, he continues to carry on in his ‘godlike’ path, insult people and basically acting like a child who is throwing his toys out of his pram. He has turned into a bit of a mega controlling internet whizz who controls the press very well.

Meantime claiming to love everyone on social media and and preach to the masses about love meanwhile cutting out those who cared enough to question him or tell him the truth. It seems Brandon has issues with control and nobody dare question him. That’s alright is you are the sole owner but not so good when other people are working themselves silly for you and the company and you fire them.
There are those who are happy to follow blindly & happily and that is cool but I think this is where I get off the bus at.

Being abusive to female staff, any staff really, calling them names, firing Nicola and being arrogant and rude to people on social media is not good enough really. Will Deciem continue .. probably , you may see lots of the bigger companies pulling out now, even Lauder could pull out, this is not over yet by a long shot .. but for me my journey with Deciem and Niod in particular will end here.

No man is an island and all of this will catch up with Brandon of he doesn’t take care of his best staff and fix the errors that need fixed or the little things will become the big things that can make or break you …Beauty doesn’t rinse off and errors don’t fix themselves ..

Bye for now

The Natural Beauty Box

Hello fellow Beauty addicts and stashers,

Hope you have had a good new year, but I am not sorry to see January half over as it is a long boring old month. Well at least we have made it past Blue Monday (the most miserable day of the year). There is a blizzard blowing outside and I am glad I am inside & warm and toasty oh and that a have a beauty box to check over and review.

So the Natural Beauty Box has been running for about a year now, it is a vegan & cruelty free, it costs £24.95 a month and you get 5 products Organic/Clean/ in the box.
The theme for this box was Hygge Moments which in Ireland means – getting, comfy, warm and toasty, we been doing it for years!

The first item is Coopers Calm Atmosphere Room Mist – a blend of 5 essential oils – Lavender, Bergamont, Ylang Ylang, Rosemary & Frankincense. I really love the scent of this and keep it by my laptop for times of stress .. lol!
This is my first time trying this brand and will be taking a look at their other products.

Made By Coopers Vanilla Rose Bath Salts – these smelled fantastic and looked pretty too but the elephant in the room for me was the rose petals or flower petals in the packet. I just think they go slimy and clog the plughole up.
But they have Pink Himalayan salts, Dead Sea Salts, Coconut Oil & Ylang Ylang there is lots there to love but lose the bits that linger after please x

MONO Rose Cucumber cleansing oil & Cloth – this is a new brand to me, well not quite as I found I have a face oil as well I had overlooked. It smells amazing and is lovely and light on the skin and left my face feeling refreshed and super clean! So will be nice to try both together to get a real feel of the brand, there is a fab story behind the brand and the products.
Very interested to see that their formulas are infused with the high vibrational energy of crystals and jewels! They use in their products to work in synergy with the natural sometimes raw ingredients. I adore this sort of thing and I am definitely working on being a more spiritual better person this year, so this is a brand I will want to know a lot more about. Also comes with a big soft bamboo cloth. I could go on about this brand a lot more but I feel it needs its own blog post and more!

Guiltless Skin Clarity Organic oil (full size) – I have one of these oils on the go at the moment and have tried a few times, they aim to restore skin harmony and nourish with this oil. Luckily I am not someone who gets a lot of spots but I do sometimes get some redness and this oil is lovely and soothing.
This product is full of cold pressed organic virgin oils so these are the finest quality of oils you can put on your face really, they don’t come much purer than that! With Prickly Pear, Moringa, Nigella Sativia & Camelia this oil works for troubles skin to kill spots, take down redness and restore skin back to good health.

Spacemask – Interstellar Relaxation! I have already bought a box of these after first reading about them in the Victoria Health Newsletter, I bought them instantly and omggg!! They are a real turn everything off lie down and just enjoy the ride!
They slowly warm when you put them on and as they warm you just find yourself completely relaxing and transported to planet chill. A fabulous thing to use at bedtime to switch the day off. Honestly I love them and I will be buying more!
Take me to your leader!!

There was also a couple of extra Mono free samples in this box, there is no date on when this box was out but you can find out more about this box here – NM10 gets you 10% off as well.

There is a lot to talk about in these natural boxes and a lot more I want to find out about certain products too!

That’s it for now folks!

Colours by The Ordinary Launches Early April…. Yippee!

Hello everyone & hello Spring!

Not only have Deciem/Niod/The Ordinary Umbrella opened their first flagship store in London, but they will in a couple of weeks time be releasing their long awaited (impatient much?) Colours makeup range.

Colours will be a range of 2 foundations: 1. Colours Coverage Foundation is thicker in texture and will give the wearer a full coverage look, with spf15 and a semi-matte flawless finish.

2. Colours Skin Serum Foundation gives a sheer coverage, water-like in texture, great for Spring/Summer and this will be what I will be going for. There are lots of water based products on the market right now and I love the sheer, almost transparent look they give to my skin, so very natural and glowy. Again it will give a semi-matte flawless finish and has a built in spf15

There are 21 shades in each range, offering the buyer something to cover just about any skin colour, from very light to very dark. If you cannot get your shade quite right, then the company really goes the extra mile for a customer and will mix one up just for you in your shade!

They will both be under an incredible £6 each and will offer the buyer a high quality foundation at an incredible bargain price. They are designed to rival & be every bit as good as high end foundations and I just cannot wait until they arrive!

Meantime if you are in London and close to the new Deciem store, you can go in and try the foundations as they have samples out .. if you do I shall be incredibly jealous lol ..I will put the address here for handiness if you are in that area –  18 lamb street, Old Spitafields Market.

I just know, that like everything Deciem does, the Colours range will not only be an instant hit with customers, it is also going to completely take the beauty world by storm and shake it up! (again)

If you would like to be notified when the foundations go live, then the best place to be signed up to  the waitlist on  Victoria Health here: The Colours Waitlist

Are you looking forward to The Colours going on sale too?

If I can say one thing about Deciem .. there is never a dull moment with what they do, always a rush of excitement and the feeling of new groundbreaking products and ideas!

Bye for now beauties,

Niod Sanskrit Saponins

Hey Everyone,

Great day here so far it is finally feeling warmer and I have all my bedding out blowing in the breeze .. happy days!

I want to mention a new cleanser I purchased from Victoria Health (a company I love). Niod Sanskrit Saponins is not your average cleanser.. but then Niod don’t do things the normal way! They break the rules and trail-blaze … it is skincare for me (and others) to really get excited about.

I will leave the science to Brandon and Victoria Health and just tell you how I have found the product personally and how it has made my skin feel ..

This is not a cleanser for removing your make up, this is a cleanser for skin .. yes your skin! Having used this more than a few times now I think I have worked out what it does in layman’s terms (hopefully).

What Niod have done here is stripped back cleansing to a very old Ayurvedic technique centuries old using plant Saponins and applied it to this deep skin cleanser  that cleans the skin so very well this product focuses more on skin health. Clean skin that can breathe is healthy happy skin.. it is addictive and I love it!!

To use you wet your face and massage a large pea sized amount between your fingertips to warm and activate the product you then massage it over your face for a few minutes or you can leave 5 minutes as a mask..

What I can feel it doing like a gentle suction action all over your face  getting into the pores,  shrinking back and taking out the junk, soaking up excess oil, dirt, dead skin so that when you rinse …any product build up & dirt on the skin come away leaving your skin feeling velvety soft, super clean, and it can really breathe in the air.

It is ph balanced, you don’t need to tone after if you don’t want to. It takes off any product build up you may have on your skin, it cleans and clears out spots, removes dirt and impurities so well the size of pores are drastically reduced .. this I really love because as you get older pores get bigger and now I have to look VERY hard to see mine .. it is a miracle!

So it is like someone coming into your’re home and scrubbing it from top to toe. giving it a good ole hoover  in every corner and taking out every last bit of dust and rubbish .. skin feels spotlessly clean and fresh, mattified and clear.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about the Sanskrit Saponins  and how it makes my skin feel. It is a cleanser I think we have been in need of for a very long time .. one that treats the actual skin alone, doesn’t take off make up, just makes your skin feel and look cleaner than ever and does it really well.

Everything works better, my skin feels so incredibly soft and yes again .. clean .. cleanest it has felt in a very long time. So if your into your skincare and love healthy skin like I do then this cleanser needs looked at to be added to your skincare arsenal for sure as it lets skin breathe again!

Brandon who owns Niod has shown here he can go from extremely high tech to stripping and paring back products and letting them be ..very intelligent skincare indeed…

It is £23.00 for 90-ml from Victoria Health and worth a read up on what they have to say about the product.

That is it for now folks

NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum 1% .. Truly Remarkable Skincare!

Hi everyone,

If you have not heard of Brandon Truaxe Or NIOD (non evasive options in dermal science) then you should really go to Victoria Health and read up on the incredible things he is doing in the Beauty world!

copper-amino-isolate-serum-1pct-15ml (1)

He is revolutionising the way we look at beauty and skin-care and completely turning it on his head. How he thinks and looks at what our skin needs is so much more pioneering and streets ahead of the usual huge beauty giants churning out the same sort of creams which are only slightly different down through their various channels.

So the first product I purchased was the NIOD Copper Amino Isolate Serum. It comes beautifully packaged in plain black boxes and white labels, slightly clinical, clean and a feeling of something that you feel is going to be high-tech and that is exactly what it is.

Two bottles  come with this product…. one looks empty .. do not turn it on it’s head and shake because it contains the copper powder needed to make up the serum.

You activate this yourself by mixing the Activator  and the copper flakes together and shaking for about 30 seconds to mix well and activate your serum. This way you get the freshest product that will stay active for you for the longest time. You keep this serum in the fridge to keep the ingredients as active and as potent as possible.

How this serum works is to help reduce all visable signs of anti-ageing. It is absorbed into the skin immediately and it forms a base to make skin look and act younger  from  it’s lowest depth upwards. So it is also treating the new skin before it gets up to the surface.

This is a thin light sky blue serum and I personally find the best way to apply this (as you only need 3 drops) and not over use it is to apply it to the palm of my hand and quickly mix it onto both hands and press it into my skin that is still damp from toning. That way I feel I get a good application of the serum all over my face.

On my own skin I have been using about a month now. I can see a more youthful  appearance and it has been remarked upon! I feel my face looks and feels healthy (I tend to be quite ashen) my pores do look smaller and firmness  and elasticity is much much better. Particularly the elasticity and spring back.

I could try and go into all the high-tech stuff about this serum. It is called skin-care for the hyper-educated. I am not quite in that niche but I love good skincare that works and that really matters to me and this really works! I know this because I can see and feel it every day.

I use it with the NIOD Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex with 12 different hyaluronic compounds to visably hydrate hydrate the skin. This is a godsend for anyone who struggles with keeping their skin hydrated as they get older as i know I do ..

Having tried  quite a few NIOD  products now and I can honestly say I just want more and more…. there is no heaviness with these products. They are lovely and light, the delivery goes instantly into the skin. There is no waiting for anything to sink in. You apply and straight away your done and you have intelligent products  that is making your skin work for you!

The NIOD umbrella is a very fast growing one. People are really waking up to what these powerful products can do for their skin.

The amazing Nikki Taylor is a massive NIOD fan and I have to say I have very cheerfully followed her down this line and been really excited by all the new releases and I just cannot wait to get my hands on them!

Have you had the pleasure of trying some of the NIOD products yet? If so are you loving them as much as me?

That’s all for now folks

Take care

Nicola x
