Stemm High Density Hair Serum by Deciem

Hello beauties,

As I get older, not only does my skin and face age, but I have really noticed that my hair has thinned, gotten a LOT finer, my curls have flopped and basically it looks and feels pretty lifeless and sad.

Anyone who knows me, knows I have spent quite a bit of money on high-end brands, to try to treat the lack of life, volume and body in my hair. But buying expensive shampoos and conditioners was quite frankly a waste of money; they might have smelled fantastic, but they weren’t hitting the mark really.

Hello Stemm!!

Deciem has recently released a set of 3 products, to treat all aspects of hair ageing, cleansing and conditioning. All without parabens and sulphates, to really tackle volume, hair loss, ageing and condition, from the scalp to the hair end!

There is a set for blonde hair & a set for darker haired beauties! I think the Stemm Density Stimuli deserves it’s very own post, because it treats the scalp and the hair follicle (root). So right from the first use, you are giving your hair the very best chance to be healthy as it grows.

Our hair, once it leaves the follicle, is dead, so it makes such good sense and it is vital to treat and keep those precious follicles healthy. In turn, we are giving hair a better chance to grow well, be stronger and healthy and restore vitality. It is pure anti ageing for anyone who suffers from fine, poor, damaged, or mature hair, that has lost its lustre.

Packed full of amino acids, green tea, caffeine, black vulvic acid, zinc, hyaluronic acid, magnesium, copper and so many other incredible ingredients, to give you the best hair growth and life to your hair you can possibly have.

The reason I am singing the praises of this product so much, is because of the results I have had personally from the products. I am 47 and my hair had lost all of its life due to health, medications, anemia and age.

As someone who loves skincare, I never connected the dots, to apply the same care to my hair as I did to my face….until now .. and it makes perfect sense and I am now reaping the rewards and results.

There is a gentle hair cleanser and a very clever conditioner that treats the damage on the actual hair shaft and really strengthens the lengths, which I also know has helped my hair incredibly and I do not say that lightly.

I really loved this treatment for the scalp, applied in a very small amount at night, no need to overload, you just need to massage it lightly over your scalp at night and let the follicles soak it up.

If you are going to spend a lot money to tackle ageing on your hair, it is crucial to get the very first step right I think; and this has improved even the lift, body and volume on the roots of my hair so much … I think anyone with thin, weak hair has nothing to lose by trying this.

It is a treatment at last, that in a 3 step process, tackles all aspects of my hair ageing and damage. I would say it has taken about 20 years off how my hair looks, feels and reacts and it is soo much stronger; no more stretching and snapping.

The set I have is the trio for blonde hair and the only place right now you can get the set is from QVC and it is much better value than buying individually. You can find the set here: Stemm 3 Step Hair Thickening Collection .

I will follow up with the shampoo and conditioner in another post (and get a trim lol)

That is it for now beauties,

Colours by The Ordinary Launches Early April…. Yippee!

Hello everyone & hello Spring!

Not only have Deciem/Niod/The Ordinary Umbrella opened their first flagship store in London, but they will in a couple of weeks time be releasing their long awaited (impatient much?) Colours makeup range.

Colours will be a range of 2 foundations: 1. Colours Coverage Foundation is thicker in texture and will give the wearer a full coverage look, with spf15 and a semi-matte flawless finish.

2. Colours Skin Serum Foundation gives a sheer coverage, water-like in texture, great for Spring/Summer and this will be what I will be going for. There are lots of water based products on the market right now and I love the sheer, almost transparent look they give to my skin, so very natural and glowy. Again it will give a semi-matte flawless finish and has a built in spf15

There are 21 shades in each range, offering the buyer something to cover just about any skin colour, from very light to very dark. If you cannot get your shade quite right, then the company really goes the extra mile for a customer and will mix one up just for you in your shade!

the-ordinary-colours-foundation-shades-650x593

They will both be under an incredible £6 each and will offer the buyer a high quality foundation at an incredible bargain price. They are designed to rival & be every bit as good as high end foundations and I just cannot wait until they arrive!

Meantime if you are in London and close to the new Deciem store, you can go in and try the foundations as they have samples out .. if you do I shall be incredibly jealous lol ..I will put the address here for handiness if you are in that area –  18 lamb street, Old Spitafields Market.

I just know, that like everything Deciem does, the Colours range will not only be an instant hit with customers, it is also going to completely take the beauty world by storm and shake it up! (again)

If you would like to be notified when the foundations go live, then the best place to be signed up to  the waitlist on  Victoria Health here: The Colours Waitlist

Are you looking forward to The Colours going on sale too?

If I can say one thing about Deciem .. there is never a dull moment with what they do, always a rush of excitement and the feeling of new groundbreaking products and ideas!

Bye for now beauties,

Are Beauty Boxes Getting Old? Or Am I getting Fussier …

Hello everyone,

I have been an avid fan of the Beauty Box World for many years, from my very first box by Feel Unique, which I loved. To me it was still the best ever, as it brought me so much fantastic skincare that I wanted to try and it wowed me. But looking back and on their Facebook page, they got such grief about it. If they put skincare in, young girls were yelling at them as they didn’t want or need it and if they put too much makeup in older people were asking for more skincare!

So the surprise beauty box came to an abrupt end! I think Glossybox, which to me is geared at teenagers I always found poor .  Love Lula do a good organic box , but cost comes into play with organic and it tends to be bulked up with lip balms and hand creams which a years  later I am still finding about the place! Both still do a surprise box but for most companies the grief they got every month was just too much!

I wouldn’t fancy working in the Glossybox complaints department .. just sayin!

So now what we mostly have is a choice. Every month boxes like Latest In Beauty, You Beauty,  offer a subscription after a recent re-vamp. It had gotten very stagnant with not many new samples being available or that is how it felt to me. I hope they can keep the flow and not keep putting items from the monthly selection items into their Limited Edition Boxes ggrrr!!

For me I don’t buy a beauty box to get the same products over and over again, I buy it because there is something in there I really want to try. There is an ocean of products out there, please let us have them.

Love Me Beauty won funding on the Dragons Den recently and they have also struck a deal with Debenhams so hopefully some fresh samples coming there. Look Fantastic does a Box now too but it has never appealed to me…yet.

QVC Tili box – first 2 boxes were utterly fabulous, 3rd box was a big let down. Really hope they pick it up again as it is their way of reeling in the youth to their company and what they can do.

When beauty boxes get big, they tend to lose out on samples from smaller niche brands and I wish this wasn’t so, as these are the things I love to try. Organic products too lose out as they can just be too expensive to put into a beauty box. Balance is needed but everywhere I look I am not being thrilled by what I see.

Am I being more fussy now or does the whole beauty box world need a serious  overhaul?

Somewhere in our demand to now choose the samples ourselves, I think there is now a bottleneck with items we have all had before, clogging up the selection. I can see how that is bad for both customer and company alike, but how do they solve the problem?

I just want some new things to be wooed by! So in all my thinking about this and a conversation with Sandra @ Beauty Balm Blog about beauty boxes ..I think we need a 40+ box with targeted skincare and makeup products to try. The samples are out there, so surely companies would be jumping at the market?

I must mention the one box that is really working for me right now and that is the Perfume Society Box. There is such a wealth of information that comes with this box: It is a journey into fragrance that I would not or could never have taken, if not for these boxes. It comes beautifully packaged and is always full of new exciting fragrances from top fragrance houses, with some smaller niche perfume brands in the mix to try as well. They have the mix just right.

img_20170304_140853984_hdr-2

40+ customers have the most money to spend on beauty and if they like the products and see results they won’t be scared to really invest in that full size product if it works for them!

Let us see other smaller niche brands as well as the big ones that are working so much harder to please us! I appreciate smaller brands could not do large numbers but give them a chance to show what they do and how good it can be …

I am bored, bored, bored with what I am seeing, surely there is some exciting upcoming brands out there that need introduced to people? Or international brands wanting to break into the UK?

I don’t want to look at a monthly selection and see same, same, same … yawn! Some of the earlier beauty boxes were amazing, I would love to see a real return to this too.

Anyway would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on the Beauty Box subscription world …

Yours .. beauty boxed out ..

What’s in a lipstick Shade/Tone?

Hello everyone,

A bit of a rant today which I rarely do, but I feel I really need to in this case, as it was a high end product and a bit of a considered purchase for me. When I or anyone else buy a lipstick, we are all looking for that specific shade that catches our eye and we want it because .. it is the one for me!

The world is full of lipsticks and lipstick shades and we have our choice of hundreds or thousands. So when I saw the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Kidman’s Kiss, I thought it was stunning; the most beautiful pink toned lipstick I had seen in a long time and I had to have it.

What I got this morning looks nothing like the picture at all; not even remotely like the shade on the model and that makes me cross as I was so looking forward to this lipstick.

Charlotte Tilbury is considered to be one of the world’s best makeup artists and if anyone can nail a shade I would like it think she could do that! But sadly not in this instance, the colour is completely off and to be honest the formula goes on a bit patchy too. I put some primer on my hands to get my picture too. Below are the images from the website and the shade I of course selected in Kidman’s Kiss and a couple of pictures from home. One is a swatch of said lipstick.

I am gutted this was not the colour represented online and that the shade is so completely different to the one in the photos. It cost £24.00 and is completely different to what I thought I was ordering. I do not know how companies can do this to people. You buy in good faith, only to be so let down when the product arrives. Well I guess that is all I have to say about that really ..

Just to add I did however get some really good customer service on this from the CT website and I really appreciate that.

Bye for now folks..

By for now folks,

yours very disappointed ….

Lin & Lo Instant Love Mineral Mascara

Hello Beauties,

Happy January .. well hopefully!

Alina & Laura are 2 make up artists who are behind the brand Lin & Lo. They are no strangers to the beauty industry, as their families are involved in the beauty world too. Working all over the world, they have brought together their passion for beauty & make up and their wealth of knowledge of the best quality natural ingredients.

img_20170109_150237970-2

The Instant Love Mascara, is fabulous. Enriched with ceramides to restore and strengthen lashes, it gave me carbon black lashes, that felt conditioned, thick, glossy, with minimal effort. I was really impressed with the length and volume that just 2 coats of this mascara gave me.

There is no clumping or stickiness and the more I think about this, it has to be the easiest to apply mascara I have used in a long time. No mess and no fuss, just fantastic results. I love the brush and how it catches the lashes making sure all lashes get evenly coated.

IMG_20170109_150439374 (2).jpg

I shall be moving over quite a few of my mascara stash in favour of this one! It stayed put and didn’t budge and it was pretty easily removed too, unlike some on the market now, that are near impossible to get off.

I am genuinely very impressed with this mascara, it just oozes quality and a fantastic finish, it really does. I shall be looking into this brand a lot more!

img_20170108_170639355-3

There are a lot of mascaras out there that charge a mint, but are pretty much bog standard. This is a cut above and perhaps that is because the brand is still very niche and they have to work harder to compete, but the quality is definitely there.

There is 20% off The Lin & Lo Instant Love Mascara with this month’s Libbie Club and you can find it here: January Libbie Offers.

That is it for now folks

Wonderland Studio Finish Primer

Hello Beauties,

Wonderland is a relatively new makeup company, their products are all made in the UK. They have worked within the beauty industry with top brands for over 12 years, before they started their own brand.

They believe that high quality makeup should not cost the earth and have committed themselves to bringing you high-end makeup without the high-end price tag!

IMG_20161213_142824815.jpg Their Studio Finish Primer does not disappoint. Its oil free formula is very lightweight and it glides over the skin, making everything feel much smoother and it is matte sort of light lustre to the skin.

This primer gives a really flawless finish to the skin, it feels so smooth, the perfect canvas for your makeup.

I have to say it performs really well and like a primer I would usually pay a lot more money for. My makeup looked and felt great, there were no oil patches on my face, everything stayed in place and most importantly … there was no makeup sitting in my fine lines and wrinkles!

img_20161213_142749861-2

This is a great wee primer, it does exactly what it says it will and it works really well at keeping everything in place. Price wise you can pay a lot of money for a primer that is too heavy, too oily or doesn’t really do anything for you, which really makes this Wonderland primer worth a go @ £12.50, plus you get some free silver glittery eyeshadow pigments worth £6.50 for free!

You can find the Primer offer with the free beautiful eye shadow pigments here: Wonderland Primer

I do hope you take a look as this is a great offer …

Bye for now
